Harvest Time Tracking Integration

If you're a regular reader, you know that ProjectLocker has integrations to the popular time trackers Toggl and Freckle. (If you're not a regular reader, take a second and enter your email address in the box on the right so these posts come right to your inbox.)




This week, we're adding Harvest to the mix, so that you can log time to Harvest from your ProjectLocker commits. As with the other time tracking integrations, this helps you track the time your team spends working on code. If your time is billable, using the time tracker integration can help you make more money by ensuring that you bill all the hours your team actually works.

If you're not familiar with Harvest, Harvest is a web-based time tracking and invoicing application relied on by creative businesses in over 100 countries.

If you're a current user of ProjectLocker and Harvest, this FAQ entry will show you how to get set up. Once you're setup, you can simply annotate your commit comments with the time an activity took. For instance, to indicate that a particular block of work took 3 hours, you could simply use a commit message like this:

API updates for Windows 8.1. Took 3 hours.

ProjectLocker will automatically log 3 hours to the project in Harvest, and when it's time to create an invoice for your client, you won't forget to bill those 3 hours.
