TSheets Add-On for Time Tracking

Published 10 October 2014 by Runako Godfrey

If you're a consultant or contractor, you probably get paid by billing your client for the hours you spend working on their projects. Your time is billable, so you need to keep track of it to make sure you get paid properly.

Good news: we've just launched a new add-on that will help make time tracking easier ProjectLocker users who track their time with TSheets. If you're not familiar with TSheets, it's an easy-to-use Web-based time tracker designed to make sure your team loves using it.

If you're a current user of ProjectLocker and TSheets, this FAQ entry will show you how to get set up. Once you're setup, you can simply annotate your commit comments with the time an activity took. For instance, to indicate that a particular block of work took 25 minutes, you could simply use a commit message like this:

Added Bitcoin billing support. Took 45 mins.

ProjectLocker will automatically log 45 minutes to the job code in TSheets, and when it's time to create an invoice for your client, you won't forget to bill those 45 minutes. (The syntax is flexible -- see the FAQ entry for details.) It's really dead-simple to use. We think this add-on will save you some administrative headaches and help you make a little more money.

The TSheets integration is available now to all ProjectLocker accounts at the Equity level or higher. Equity plans also get access to the growing library of add-ons. If you don't have a TSheets account yet, hop on over to their site and sign up today!
