Time Tracking With Freckle

Published 03 June 2014 by Runako Godfrey

A number of ProjectLocker's users need to track the time they spend working on code. Their time is billable, or they just want to know where they are spending their most precious resource.

That's why we've just released a new integration that will help make time tracking easier ProjectLocker users who track their time with Freckle. If you're not familiar with Freckle, it's a gorgeous Web-based time tracker designed to make it easy for you to bill your clients all the time you actually worked for them.

If you're a current user of ProjectLocker and Freckle, this FAQ entry will show you how to get set up. Once you're setup, you can simply annotate your commit comments with the time an activity took. For instance, to indicate that a particular block of work took 25 minutes, you could simply use a commit message like this:

Updated database chooser dialog options. Took 25 mins.

ProjectLocker will automatically log 25 minutes to the project in Freckle, and when it's time to create an invoice for your client, you won't forget to bill those 25 minutes. (The syntax is flexible -- see the FAQ entry for details.) Awesome, and we hope this integration will save you some time and help you make a little more money.

The Freckle integration is available now to all ProjectLocker accounts at the Equity level or higher. If you don't have a Freckle account yet, hop on over to their site and sign up today!
