Subversion 1.7 upgrade complete

Posted by C. G. Brown Tue, 03 Jan 2012 07:32:00 GMT

At this time, Subversion 1.7.2 is installed on all ProjectLocker production servers. You can upgrade your client to a 1.7 client to obtain the additional performance benefits, or continue using your 1.4 or higher clients if that's what you prefer.

There was an issue with case-sensitivity of email addresses that some customers experienced after the upgrade. The workaround was to use the same case for your email as you used when you entered it into Portal, but we investigated and determined why our customizations to Subversion did not pick up our addition of case-insensitive email address support. The installation was repaired and reinstalled, and your email should work in a case-insensitive way at this time. Trac is still case-sensitive as it has been, but we're working on a solution for that as well.

We hope everyone had a great holiday season and look forward to another year of serving you. Thank you as always for your patience and support as we continue to do our best to offer you the best value in hosted software quality solutions.

Subversion 1.7 Upgrade In Progress

Posted by C. G. Brown Mon, 26 Dec 2011 15:21:00 GMT

We are in the process of upgrading our servers to Subversion 1.7.2. For those of you on Enterprise plans or with server numbers ending in 2 or 5, you have already been upgraded, and you can begin using the features immediately if you have a Subversion 1.7 client. If you do not, you should still be able to use the features that your client version supports.

If you are experiencing issues, please contact us by clicking the New Support Request link in ProjectLocker Portal and post in detail the exact error message you are getting. You can also try upgrading your client to a Subversion 1.7 client and see if you get better results. If this works for you, please notify us which client versions failed and which succeeded so we can do additional testing against those versions.

Maintenance Window - Sunday June 7

Posted by C. G. Brown Fri, 05 Jun 2009 22:57:00 GMT

We'll be doing some upgrades on the ProjectLocker servers this weekend to improve the performance of ProjectLocker Portal and a number of ProjectLocker accounts, starting Sunday, June 7 at 8 am EDT (12 pm GMT) and ending at 6 pm EDT (10 pm GMT). If your server name ends in 1 (e.g. seed1.projectlocker.com), you may experience some distruptions of service during this period. Users of ProjectLocker Portal may also experience disruptions of service. ProjectLocker Enterprise users and accounts on our other servers are not affected.

We're excited about the growth that has led to this point and look forward to the improvements in performance that will allow us to continue to provide you the best service in the industry.

New ProjectLocker Lite Trac Features

Posted by C. G. Brown Sat, 26 Apr 2008 16:12:00 GMT

We've made several additions to ProjectLocker Lite Trac recently to improve your experience.  Here are some of the new features:

Plugins

We've installed the following plugins:

If there are other plugins that you think you and other customers may find useful, file a ticket with us and we'll install them, pending a security review and making sure they don't cause any issues.  You can activate plugins that we have installed by going to the Admin menu in Trac itself.

Improved Subversion-Trac Interaction

We've installed the trac-contrib commit hook that allows you to cause action to occur on Trac tickets.  If you use the right syntax, you can make commit messages leave comments on Trac tickets or even mark tickets as fixed just by doing a Subversion commit.  The syntax is described in detail in the Support FAQ.

Trac Upgrade via Web

Installation of some plugins requires an upgrade of your Trac environment.  After some customer feedback, we have added a link to run trac-admin upgrade from ProjectLocker Portal, so after installing the Tags or Discussions plugin, if your Trac instance indicates that it needs an upgrade, go to your Trac Service Properties for your project and click "Run trac-admin Upgrade". Your instance will upgrade itself on the spot and you can proceed with your work.

As always, we welcome your feedback on how we can make our service more useful for you.

ProjectLocker Enterprise Upgrade Complete

Posted by C. G. Brown Tue, 26 Feb 2008 20:52:00 GMT

We just completed an upgrade this weekend to the ProjectLocker Enterprise servers.  We upgraded Subversion to the latest release, Subversion 1.4.6, and Trac to version Trac 0.11.  We've also put in a few performance tweaks and infrastructure changes that ought to lead to even better performance.  Last but not least, we've upgraded our backup solution, so we are now providing 30-day retention of backups for all Enterprise accounts.

We're pleased with the results so far, but of course if you run into any post-upgrade issues, don't hesitate to contact us.
